Outdoor marijuana growers have always faced the possibility of hikers and hunters accidentally stumbling across their grow sites and now state officials are urging more hunters to report suspected sites. Just last month, a hunter in Shawano County, Wisconsin discovered over 8,000 plants resulting in the largest bust in state history.  That has led the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to issue a warning for hunters to keep their eyes open for marijuana-growing operations this season.

Police officials in Los Angeles served a search warrant on an elaborate indoor marijuana garden (pictured) just 25 feet from the back door of the Topanga police station. Officials found 850 marijuana plants, grow lights, and an automated irrigation system.

An investigation was launched after police smelled marijuana from the station parking lot adjacent to the industrial building that housed the grow site. Investigators also discovered an unusually high electric bill to secure a search warrant which was executed Wednesday afternoon. Police also admitted the grow had been there at least 8 months despite being so close.

The small ski town of Breckenridge, Colorado recently made national headlines after voters approved a measure to decriminalize marijuana use for adults. Eight members of the Wu-Tang Clan’s entourage including the semi-notable DJ Mathematics and Streetlife were arrested in West Memphis, Arkansas after police busted their tour bus for “going 70 in a 65″. Police say the bus was completely “filled” with marijuana smoke, a feat commonly called “hot boxing”. Blunts and marijuana residue was also allegedly in plain sight of officers.

A subsaquent search of the bus turned up 2 ounces of marijuana, 110 ecstasy tablets and $8,615 in cash. All eight people were arrested for suspicion of drug possession with intent to sell. The driver was given a speeding ticket and released.

A Michigan father is not winning any Dad of The Year awards after he called the cops on his 16-year-old daughter when he discovered a marijuana plant growing in her bedroom closet.  Troy, MI police say they were called to the home at 11:25 a.m on Halloween. From there the father showed them to the closet (pictured) containing a marijuana plant, grow lights, small fan and plant food.
