Note to all who make the annual trip to Amsterdam: You need to FULLY empty your pockets of all cannabis, hash and all SHAKE that may be deposited at the bottom of your pockets before coming back to the States. At SFO, officers were accumulating all of the shake onto paper, which they in turn drug-tested. If they can score a positive and still have enough evidence to show to a judge, then they will proceed to a very detailed frisk. This entails actually grabbing your groin from all angles, while another officer pins your hands to a table -- and even sticking their finger up into your ass through your clothing. It's really pretty disgusting. And of course, they perform this anal penetration after pretending to be your friend for a half hour. I don't know that the cops who have been enlisted to perform these acts are actually guilty of anything other than being misinformed about the effects of marijuana. So long as we continue to train police officers and customs officials of the "dangers" of marijuana use and the lack of medical benefit associated with marijuana use, we should expect to see more of this as they become increasingly desperate to do their job in the face of public opposition. I recommend that Cannabis Cup attendees bring books about the medical value of marijuana with them to hand to customs officials. As they're going through your stuff, tell them: "This book is for you, because it appears that your superiors are misleading you on the dangers of marijuana."
